In keeping with the mission and goals of A-1 Audio Visual, LLC, it is incumbent that we recognize the planet earth as our life source and our responsibility as human being to do everything in our power to keep and protect the very environment that is responsible for our very being.
With the simple acts of conservation and change of habit can save energy and resources at work, and these small steps and multiplied by persuading the staff- that our work place is willing to adopt environmentally friendly( and offer cost-effective) policies. It is with that premise that A-1 Audio Visual, LLC dedicate the future success of the company to “THE GREEN LIFE”.
10 Ways to Go Green
1. BE BRIGHT ABOUT LIGHT
Artificial lighting accounts for 44 % of the electricity use in office buildings. We will make it a habit to turn off the lights when we leave the room for 15 minutes or more and utilize natural light when we can. When needed e will use Energy Star-rated light bulbs and fixtures.
2. MAXIMIZE COMPUTER EFFICIENCY
Computers in the business sector unnecessarily waste $1 Billion worth of electricity a year. We will make it a practice to turn off computers-and the power strip it’s plugged into –when we leave for the day.
3. PRINT SMARTER
The average US.office worker goes though 10,000 sheets of copy paper a year. We will make it a habit to print on both sides or use the back side of old documents for faxes, scrap paper, or drafts. We will avoid color printing and print in draft mode whenever feasible. We will also use paper, toner, and ink cartridges we will recycle and buy remanufactured ones.
4. GO PAPERLESS WHEN POSSIBLE
We will make it a habit to think before printing.
5. RAMP UP YOUR RECYCLING
We will make it a habit to recycle everything our company use. We will remember old cell phones, PDA, or pagers. We will place recycle bins in strategic locations.

6. CLOSE THE LOOP
We will make it a policy to purchase office supplies and furniture made from recycled materials.
7. WATCH THAT AND (AND HOW) YOU EAT
We will make a habit to bring our own mugs and dishware for those meals we will eat in the office. We will use reusable products. When possible we will use organic food for parties and events
8. RETHINK OUR TRAVEL
We will make it a habit to take the train, bus ,or subway when feasible instead of a rental car when traveling for business. We will use videoconferencing and other technological solutions that can reduce the amount of employee travel.
9. RECONSIDER HOW WE COMMUTE
We will make a habit of a carpool, bike, or take transit to work, and/or telecommute when possible. We will make policies to encourage telecommuting as possibly a perk to make it easy for employees to take alternative modes of travel to work and business meetings.
10. CREATE A HEALTHY OFFICE ENVIRONMENT
Make it a habit to use nontoxic cleaning products. Brighten office spaces with plants, palnts, plants. We will make it a policy to purchase furniture, carpeting, and paint that is free of volatile organic compounds ( VOC).
